VW Golf R Mk7 Race Exhaust System
The exhaust note is perfect and surprisingly for a non-resonated system there was no drone in the cabin which was a super +++. Performance wise, the car's response was rapid and extremely smooth. I've already spread the word to my VAG mates
Following on from their highly successful performance exhaust system for the latest Volkswagen Golf R Mk7, Milltek Sport have released a new Race system option for general sale.

While based on their existing system, Milltek’s engineers have removed the two Active Exhaust Valves from the silencer outlet pipes to save weight and cost and revised the internal design of the rear silencer to produce a consistent sound throughout the entire rev-range. The external rear silencer body is unchanged and still features the same compact design of the regular Milltek system – which reduces the size of the silencer considerably over the OE system making it virtually invisible behind the rear bumper.

The system is based around 3-inch (76mm) stainless steel pipe diameter. Milltek’s Technicians used advanced gas-flow analysis and extensive road/dyno testing to show this bore size offered the optimal blend of increased power with a perfectly judged rich sound quality.

As with the regular road system, the Race system is available with either a centre silencer (referred to as Resonated) or a centre silencer delete pipe (Non-Resonated) allowing you to customise the sound level inside the car.

For customers looking to get the best possible performance from their R, Milltek Sport has also developed a range of larger-bore downpipe options which, when combined with the cat-back system, makes a full turbo-back system. Depending on local emissions laws, customers can choose from an ultra-high-performance 200 cell hi-flow sports catalyst or a catalyst removal pipe.

Built with racing in mind, the new Race option has been subjected to extensive track testing on their own VW Golf R at the 2014 Hockenheim Tuner GP and done many thousands of miles both on and off the race track. The Milltek Race system is set to star on the first ever Golf R racecar running in the Volkswagen Racing Cup during the 2015 season.

While it’s primary focus is maximum performance, Milltek Sport knows that looks are an important consideration when buying any aftermarket exhaust system and has chosen the beautiful quad oval tip design which are available with either the shiny Polished finish or in the more subtle and durable Cerakote Black Velvet finish.
